Horrid Henry was found a new way to scare everyone. His very own Monster Movie! The Undead Demon Monster Who Would Not Die, is going to be a BIG hit! Plus three monstrous tales that will leave you screaming for more!
What I like
about the book is it was very well written, and in the book Henry had a goal and some
parts were funny and some parts wear spooky. I loved the illustrations, and my favorite parts of the books were the scary parts, they weren't that scary but I still liked them.
There was nothing bad in the books, it wasn't too scary (For me) but I like scary, creepy stuff. But I don't get scared easily.
My favorite character
I like Henry and his brother. They were both really funny, but they were kinda bad little boys though.
I liked it, i would like to read more of Horrid Henry books.
Katniss is a 16-year-old girl living with her mother and younger sister in the poorest district of Panem, the remains of what used be the United States. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, "The Hunger Games." The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed. When Kat's sister is chosen by lottery, Kat steps up to go in her place.
This is going straight to the top of my favorite list. Even above the Heist Society books. That's how good this book is. I love how Katniss is like, the top dog in her family and how she's tough yet caring at the same time, and she was so brave, to step in to volunteer for her sister and to take over for the family when her dad died. Suzanne Collins made me feel like I was really there, watching the events happen. This book was awesome because it had all the best things in it, romance, danger, action, fighting and awesomeness in general! Anyone who hasn't read it yet... you should just go read it... right now... drop everything and go to the library... I'm not kidding... go now. *Shoos people off to the library*
My favorite characters were Katniss- of course- and Cinna, and Gale and Peeta. I even liked Haymitch a little. I felt like I knew all of them personally by the end of the book.
Overall this was a really awesomesauce book, and a clean one too, other than all the blood and killing of course. <(^^,)> But yeah, no bad language or inappropriateness or anything. YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK!!! Just go read it right now.
The cornerstone of GRAPHIX, our new graphic novel imprint, BONE is the incredible comic book saga of the unwitting hero who must save an idyllic valley from the forces of evil.
The BONE adventures tell the story of a young bone boy, Fone Bone, and his two cousins, Phoney Bone and Smiley Bone, who are banned from their homeland of Boneville. When the cousins find themselves mysteriously trapped in a wonderful but often terrifying land filled with secrets and danger - and special new friendships - they are soon caught up in adventures beyond their wildest dreams.
This book is so AWESOME! My friends got me into these books in elementary school, but I didn't finish them until 6th grade, and since then I've read them all three more times! The series has 9 books and a prequel, or maybe 9 including the prequel... oh well. Sometimes it can be a little violent... okay maybe a lot violent, but it's also hilarious and cool. The main characters, Smiley, Fone Bone, and Phoney are the funniest, most adorable little creatures ever, and their friends are awesome too, like Ted the Bug and Gran'ma Ben and Thorn. I especially like how the author makes the book ominous and scary, but then sometimes everything is fine and they're laughing, doing funny stuff, and you're reading and laughing even harder than the characters.
The things I didn't really like are that some characters smoke (eew). Then sometimes Thorn goes to take a bath in the stream (you can't see her in the pictures, that would be gross) and Fone Bone sees. Then there's the violence, sometimes it's just random fighting, but sometimes it's kinda gruesome, like one guy gets his head cut off and there's blood all over... yeah, gross. Other than that there's no language or anything else.
My favorite characters are SMILEY! He's awesome and kinda stupid but that's what makes him awesome and funny! He finds a baby rat creature and names him Bartleby, and then after Fone Bone tells him not to bring it with them to the city, guess what he does... brings it with them. My next favorite is definitely Bartleby, he is soooo cute and he looks like a little purple teddy bear! He is brave and smart and he does tricks! Then there are the two stupid rat creatures, they're so funny and stupid, and they're always fighting. One wants to make Fone Bone into a stew, and the other wants a light fluffy quiche. That makes the other creature angry, what kind of monsters are they if they eat quiche?!? I have way too many favorites so I'll just wrap it up now, I love Gran'ma Ben and how she's always flirting with Lucius, and there's Thorn and how she still doesn't know that Fone Bone likes her, even though it's dead obvious! And Fone Bone, he's so cute!
My least favorite is Briar, she scares me... she's this zombie type lady who was cut in half and then the Locust, her master made her able to float around somehow so that she could free him and he could enslave the world! But I won't tell you anymore, you just have to figure it out yourself and read the book!

In a discontent kingdom, civil war is brewing. To unify the divided people, Conner, a nobleman of the court, devises a cunning plan to find an impersonator of the king's long-lost son and install him as a puppet prince. Four orphans are recruited to compete for the role, including a defiant boy named Sage. Sage knows that Conner's motives are more than questionable, yet his life balances on a sword's point -- he must be chosen to play the prince or he will certainly be killed. But Sage's rivals have their own agendas as well.
As Sage moves from a rundown orphanage to Conner's sumptuous palace, layer upon layer of treachery and deceit unfold, until finally, a truth is revealed that, in the end, may very well prove more dangerous than all of the lies taken together.
This False Prince is about a boy named Sage who lives at an orphanage who one day is bought by a noble man named Conner. He picks up 3 other boys. His intentions for them aren't good, they are even at the brink of treson! He wants one of them to play the role of the lost prince, Jaron who supposedly died 4 years ago by pirates. Supposedly (*Hint, hint!*). All he tells Conner is "I am your Prince." and nothing else. Even if he loses all he will say is "I am you prince.".
I LOVE THIS BOOK!
<3<3<3<3
I love it cause it's really epic! And it's violent! Most of what I love is a spoiler, but trust me, it's amazing. It's probably my favorite book ever!
My favorite character is Sage (Or is it? *hint Hint!*) He's stubborn (like myself) awesome (like myself:) He's like me in guy form! THAT MAKES HIM AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
After I got done reading, I couldn't stop talking about it. I kept trying to tell everyone how amazing it is. So now my friend Joy (she writes for us sometimes) is going to read it too. And my brother.
If you like fantasy and adventure and excitement, or if you have a kid, or know a kid, or like kids, or don't like kids and wish they'd shut up and read, you should buy this book!!
Determined to stake their claim on the dark waters, renegade Vampirates are expanding. But the Pirate Federation and the once-neutral Nocturnal Vampirates are determined to thwart their efforts and destroy every rebel Vampirate ship in sight. Meanwhile, shocking secrets about their family history have twins Connor and Grace questioning every allegiance they've ever made. There's a bloody battle brewing on the seas, and one thing is tragically clear: This time, no ship is safe.
I know what you're thinking, "vampires? Has Faith gone to the dark side?" Well, the answer is no, these vampires are the real deal, not the sparkly ones that have relationship problems and give birth to creepy monsters. Lol no, these are pirates, and they rock. This book was definitely the saddest and it made me (almost) cry twice. There are many deaths in this book, but I'm not going to tell you who dies because that would just give it all away. I love how Justin Somper mixed the pirates and vampires together in these books, it makes the vampires far less detestable, and you get a lot of cool battle scenes that get you on the edge of your seat. I liked how Grace and Connor finally had to face what they are, and they chose the good side. And an added bonus, Grace finally sorts out her feelings (I said they don't have relationship problems but everybody does once in a while right?) and she picks Lorcan. (That's good cuz I called dibs on Johnny anyway :P) This book was pretty clean except for one word (only repeated twice) and kissing. (Grace kissing Johnny when she's dating Lorcan *rolls eyes*)
I didn't like how Cheng Li said that word and then Connor repeated it, it was funny, but it was the last thing expected, especially from Cheng Li! I also didn't like how some important people died, and some of the said people were vampire-ified! At least they aren't totally gone.
My favorite characters in the book were definitely Johnny, he's the cowboy vampirate, and he is totally awesome! He is a bad boy, but he has other sides to him also, making him a hard nut to crack. He is completely in love with Grace, and tries to steal her away from Lorcan. I have to say Jez, well, Stukely now, and Bart too. Stukely is the funny guy, but he's also killer at sword fighting, literally! And Bart is the sweetest guy ever, he's so awesome and hilarious. My favorite female character is Darcy Flotsam, she is a flapper, and also Grace's best friend. She is really cool, and she always knows when something is up with Grace, and she always tells Grace exactly what she needs to feel better.
My least favorite characters were Lady Lola because she killed one of the main charris that should not have been killed. Also Lola's girls, who killed another person who should not have been killed. (They are pretty cool though- the girls not Lola-) I always have to say Moonshine too, even though he isn't really in this book that much. He's just... icky. lol
A few notes about the book, firstly, this is NOT the first one, read the first one first to know what is going on! Secondly it can be kinda freaky sometimes, and pretty violent, like, decapitating violent. Also, as I said above, there is one word, but just that one, only said twice. Finally, read these books! You won't be sorry!
Sam knows that he and his friend Lloyd made a colossal mistake when they accepted the ride home. They have ended up in a dark mansion in the middle of nowhere with man who means to harm them. But Sam doesn't know how to get them out. They were trapped, then separated. Now they are alone. Will either of them get out alive? This gripping and hypnotic thriller will have you reading late into the night.
REVIEW:
This book was one of the few that I really loved. It was kind of violent, but I loved how realistic it was. I couldn't put it down, I stayed up late at night reading this book, I was involved in the story. Sam was the bravest 11-year-old ever. He would always find the smartest ways to get out of very rough situations. He was my favorite character in the whole book. The kidnapper was my LEAST favorite, he was very cruel to these boys, and pretty dumb all around. Lloyd was not as smart of Sam, but he knew how to make somebody laugh! I was thrilled to read this book. It was funny, it was freaky, and it made me laugh multiple times! It was a great read, Savita Kalhan did an amazing job!

Max goes flying alone at night when she gets shot by the robots that she named M-geeks and taken to a short angry Asian man named, Mr. Chew. When she refuses to join him in his plans she is thrown a half a mile away from the safe house (Quote!: So this ended up with me actually ringing the door bell.) She has to rest for 3 days (really a week) in those three days Jeb had told them about a day and night school that he wanted them to try. In the seventh book in the bestselling series, evil scientists are still trying to convince Max that she needs to save the world, this time by providing the genetic link in speeding up the pace of evolution. Worse, they're trying to convince her that her perfect mate is Dylan, the newest addition to the flock. The problem is that, despite herself, Max is starting to believe it.
Fang travels the country collecting his own gang of evolved humans, but the two separate flocks must unite to defeat a frightening doomsday cult whose motto is "Save the planet: kill the humans." And this time, the true heroine, for once, might just be little Angel.
This book is about, Max, FANG, ANGEL, Gazzy(Gassman), Iggy, Total, (DIE!) Dylan (KILL HIM!!).
So Fang left at the end of the last book to make his own flock. So he leaves Max heart-broken. Since she was screaming her head off in her room at the flocks safe house, and crying up in trees, the flock called Max's mom, DR. Martinez. So who's left? Fang. So who's there? you guessed him: Dylan *growls at him lashing tail*. So when Dylan and Max are told that they should go to a house and get married Max and Dylan say no, BUT they become closer and closer throughout the book. Fang and Max's flocks both hear about this Doomsday group, that they are chanting, "Save that planted, kill the humans!" So Fang calls Max begging for help. So both flocks come together to save the planet...again.
I HATE this book!!!! It's dumb and stupid and it's ALL DYAN'S fault!! I hate it because Fang leaves Max and Max likes stupid DYLAN!!!!! IF DYLAN HADN'T TOLD FANG TO LEAVE IN THE BOOK BEFORE THIS THEN MAX AND FANG WOULD BE TOGETHER AND I WOULD LIKE THE BOOK!!!! BUT NO IT'S STUPID DYLAN INSTEAD!!! Don't read it if you like FANG(Who's worthy of Max, Hotter than Dyaln, SMARTER than Dylan, and he's not 6 MONTHS OLD!!) I punched the pillow, I cried and I really screamed into the pillow.
Oh and there is kissing in this book and it's really mushy gushy!
In James Patterson's blockbuster series, fourteen-year-old Maximum Ride, better known as Max, knows what it's like to soar above the world. She and all the members of the "flock"--Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman and Angel--are just like ordinary kids--only they have wings and can fly. It may seem like a dream come true to some, but their lives can morph into a living nightmare at any time...like when Angel, the youngest member of the flock, is kidnapped and taken back to the "School" where she and the others were experimented on by a crew of wack jobs. Her friends brave a journey to blazing hot Death Valley, CA, to save Angel, but soon enough, they find themselves in yet another nightmare--this one involving fighting off the half-human, half-wolf "Erasers" in New York City. Whether in the treetops of Central Park or in the bowels of the Manhattan subway system, Max and her adopted family take the ride of their lives. Along the way Max discovers from her old friend and father-figure Jeb--now her betrayed and greatest enemy--that her purpose is save the world--but can she?
In this book Max and the flock, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman, and Angel, are living in peace until one day Erasers, people who can change from human to a wolf, attach their home and force them to leave and go on the run.
I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!!!!! I LOVED IT cause it's so adventurous! My favorite people are Max, Angel, and Fang! I like Max because she was strong and cool! Then I like Fang because he is so like emo and stuff! I like Angel because she is cute and she can read minds! I LOVE this book it's so violent and stuff!!!!!!!
The reader was REALLY good. She had like awesome voices for everyone! The audio that we listened to also had music and some sound effects. Not too much, but it was different than others I've listened to.
Three ordinary children are brought together by extraordinary events. . .
Giuseppe is an orphaned street musician from Italy, who was sold by his uncle to work as a slave for an evil padrone in the U.S. But when a mysterious green violin enters his life he begins to imagine a life of freedom.
Hannah is a soft-hearted, strong-willed girl from the tenements, who supports her family as a hotel maid when tragedy strikes and her father can no longer work.
She learns about a hidden treasure, which she knows will save her family -- if she can find it.
And Frederick, the talented and intense clockmaker's apprentice, seeks to learn the truth about his mother while trying to forget the nightmares of the orphanage where she left him. He is determined to build an automaton and enter the clockmakers guild -- if only he can create a working head.
Together, the three discover they have phenomenal power when they team up as friends, and that they can overcome even the darkest of fears.
This is one of the BEST book trailers I've ever seen!
This book was sitting on our shelves for months and months. Our copy is an uncorrected advanced reader copy and the cover only shows the clockwork man, without the kids, and it just didn't look that interesting. It was eventually this interview that made us decide to read the book.
We ended up requesting that our library order the audio cd so that we could listen to it together. Luckily our library is AWESOME, and they bought it.
Bransen's Thoughts:
I really loved this book. I thought it had a LOT of adventure and activity. My favorite character was Giuseppe. I liked how the author sort of got this book off of real history. I liked how Giuseppe ran away from his padrone, Stephano, and that he didn't care how badly he got punished, he just kept going. I liked how he had good friends that would help him.
I loved how Frederick was so determined to build a clockwork. Even though he made some bad decisions. It was hard for him to trust Master Branch because he was brought up in an orphanage and was mistreated by the people in charge. Hannah was so determined to help her father. She made some bad decisions too, but she would do anything to help her father.
One of the things I really loved was how all the characters meet up in different parts of the book. The book was told from all three of them in different chapters, and they would all see or meet each other a different times. I really liked that.
I thought the audiobook reader was pretty good. Jim Dale is still the best reader. The voices he did were pretty good. There was one part, where the Clockwork speaks that they made this cool sounding voice. I loved that.
This is one of my top three favorite books. Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, then this book. I loved it and I hope there will be a sequel!! I would suggest this book for anyone!
Reagan's Thoughts:
I thought this book was pretty awesome because I'm an adventure person and this book was totally adventure. My favorite character was Giueseppe because he is Italian and he's really tough and awesome.
My second favorite character is Hannah. She is daring and she's a good "detective" and is willing to risk anything for her family.
I loved how this book was written. I liked how sometimes Giueseppe and Pietro speak Italian. There were so many characters I liked. I also loved the setting. McCaulley park was my favorite.
The reader was cool, except for Fredricks voice. It seemed really snotty. I liked the other voices for everyone else. He did a really good job.
I would recommend this book to people who like Historical Fiction, Clockworks, and Adventure!
Mom's note:
This book is fantastic, but it does contain some pretty rough treatment of the boys by the Padrone. There are quite a few times that Giuseppe is beaten, or put in very upsetting situations. There are also slight paranormal elements.

My Review
One day, I was at the library with a friend and I saw this book on the shelf. Just laying there, waiting to be picked up. And, upon picking it up, there was absolutely no contemplation on whether or not I should read it. This is probably the best short story book I've read since Jon Scieszca's Guys Write for Guys Read, which I recommend to anyone of the male category. It took one night to read and, it was so good that I put off eating dinner for a whole five minutes before putting it down. And, it take's a lot for me to not want to eat, even for a short time.
This book was pure entertainment. I had a lot of fun reading it, not putting it down (Except for dinner) until I was finished. Some of the short stories were creepy, some hilarious, some you had to think about it for a while before you understood it's creepiness or hilarity. After the book was finished, I would keep going back to read a story here and there that I couldn't get out of my head. And after I returned it to the library, there were certain stories that I kept thinking that would have been so good in novel form.
A lot of my favorite authors contributed to this book. Joseph Delaney, Lemony Snicket, Pseudonymous Bosch, Jon Scieszka. It was a lot of fun a read things that weren't related to their other works (with the exception of Mr. Delaney) and that were sometimes written in complete different styles as their novels.
I greatly liked this book and, in case you guys haven't noticed yet, I obviously have a better opinion in books then anyone else here (Yeah, I know, I'm pretty awesome) so follow my advice. Read this book. It's pretty good.
"If you take a bad boy and make him dig a hole every day in the hot sun, it will turn him into a good boy." Such is the reigning philosophy at Camp Green Lake, a juvenile detention facility where there is no lake, and there are no happy campers. In place of what used to be "the largest lake in Texas" is now a dry, flat, sunburned wasteland, pocked with countless identical holes dug by boys improving their character. Stanley Yelnats, of palindromic name and ill-fated pedigree, has landed at Camp Green Lake because it seemed a better option than jail. No matter that his conviction was all a case of mistaken identity, the Yelnats family has become accustomed to a long history of bad luck, thanks to their "no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather!" Despite his innocence, Stanley is quickly enmeshed in the Camp Green Lake routine: rising before dawn to dig a hole five feet deep and five feet in diameter; learning how to get along with the Lord of the Flies-styled pack of boys in Group D; and fearing the warden, who paints her fingernails with rattlesnake venom. But when Stanley realizes that the boys may not just be digging to build character--that in fact the warden is seeking something specific--the plot gets as thick as the irony.
In this book Stanley goes to camp Green Lake for committing a crime he did not do! He went to camp Green Lake to become good :) and to dig holes :(. At Camp Green Lake, there is no lake....no water at all! Stanley becomes "the cave man" and he becomes part of group D's little group that they all have nick-names for each other, like Barf Bag and Squid. Then one day Stanley finds a gold nail polish lid in the dirt and he sees that is says: K. B. and he think it belonged to Kissing-Kate-Barlow, a famous out-law! He has to find out, and he wants to know if that spot was the spot where his great grandfather was robbed by Kissing-Kate-Barlow.
I listened to this on audio and I liked the reader a lot! He's probably my 5th favorite haha! The reader is Kerry Beyer (IT'S A BOY!) He did a lot of voices and they were really good!
I liked this book and thought is was a little weird because they had to dig holes and that Stanley was so big but he did not defend himself at all even when kids smaller then him beat him up. I liked the book and the way it would go back in time to kissing-Kate-Barlow was still a school teacher and good and nice. I also liked how Stanley found everything while the other boys got dirt. I think Zero is my 1st favorite character. Zero does not talk much and he only becomes interesting at the end. My 2nd Kissing-Kate-Barlow 3rd is the warden. GO KISSING-KATE-BARLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YEAH THIS IS WHAT I"M TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brandon loves to scare other kids. This Halloween he buttons his shirt up over his head and parades around as a headless freak! But even Brandon gets queasy at the creepiest Halloween party of all time, where guests bob for rats and eat doughnuts filled with worms!
This Goosebumps book starts out when Brandon is telling some kids (that he is babysitting) a scary story. He loves scaring people. On Halloween night, his pranks go too far and he ends up being chased by some angry dogs. He tries to jump a ravine and he falls down and dies. Then he finds one person on the other side, a boy named Norband. Norband tells Brandon that he has to rescue three frightened people in one hour or else he will stay dead forever.
This was the first Goosebumps book that I ever read, but it is the tenth book in the series. You don't have to read them in order. It was a really scary book, but it didn't actually scare me. I think it was a really good book. Except I wasn't very happy with the end. These books are really easy to read. My favorite part was when they went to the Halloween party.
Parents might want to know: There are some pretty scary parts in this book, and Brandon has a bad attitude, and doesn't treat people very well at first.
